Our infrared sauna room offers complete privacy, allowing you to dress as you wish. Some guests opt for the towels we provide, bathing suits, or loose athletic wear, while others choose to go without. We supply freshly laundered towels for the sauna benches, along with extra towels and toiletries for your convenience. Expect to sweat, so choose whatever you feel most comfortable.
How & Why do Infrared Saunas work
Instead of enduring a hot, steamy room to raise body temperature, infrared saunas utilize far infrared light to deeply heat the body from the core outward. Only 20% of the heat produced by this technology warms the air, while the remaining 80% directly heats the body. This far infrared heat elevates core body temperature, activating vital bodily functions like those in the cardiovascular, lymphatic, and immune systems. While saunas are known for promoting relaxation, they also benefit the heart and blood vessels similarly to moderate exercise. They may boost heart rate, lower blood pressure, and reduce artery stiffness. Tanjaniina Laukkanen from the University of Eastern Finland notes that sauna-induced sweating acts like a natural diuretic, helping to lower blood pressure and ease the heart's workload. Additionally, far infrared waves stimulate sweat glands, enabling users to sweat without physical effort, as these waves vibrate water molecules in the body, breaking bonds and allowing toxins to be released through sweat.
Are Infrared Safe & Can everyone use them?
All natural objects emit infrared heat, which is very safe in controlled settings. In fact, hospitals use this same technology in heaters designed to warm newborns. Infrared saunas are safe for use, but as with any wellness treatment, users should follow certain precautions: Avoid alcohol before or during your sauna session, as it can increase dehydration risk in an already sweat-inducing environment and may lead to hypotension and arrhythmia. Start with a lower temperature to gradually build your heat tolerance, and remember to stay hydrated by drinking water before, during, and after your session. While infrared saunas are generally gentle, individuals with severe conditions, such as stroke, severe aortic stenosis, recent myocardial infarction, lupus erythematosus (if on steroids), or brain tumors, should consult their doctor incorporating infrared sauna into their treatment plan.
